Tinger Scout Safety Summary

WARNING

ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE DRIVING IS DANGEROUS AND REQUIRES TRAINING & SKILL.
ROLL-OVER OR FALLING OFF CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.

  • Read operator’s manual and do not drive the vehicle without understanding all safety aspects and vehicle controls. Suitable training for off-road ATV driving must be undertaken.
  • Wear seatbelt (apart from on-water operations when seatbelts should not be worn).
  • Never exceed the maximum number of passengers. The maximum number of passengers is the same as the number of seatbelts fitted.
  • Always wear a helmet & protective glasses/goggles (and always wear life-jacket/buoyancy aid for on-water operations).
  • Do not exceed the vehicle Maximum Load: 300kg (including passengers). Spread loads evenly. Tie loads down.
  • Do not exceed the vehicle Maximum Towing Weight: 250kg or Maximum Load on Tow Bar: 90kg.
  • Before any on-water operations, ensure the drain plug is securely in place and the bilge pump is operating. Always have the bilge pump running while on water.
  • Before any on-water operations, ensure all passengers can easily exit the vehicle in an emergency (if canopy is fitted, ensure canopy is open).
  • Ensure drain plug is removed during storage to ensure any water can drain away and rainwater cannot build up within the vehicle.
  • Ensure vehicle battery is isolated & neutral gear when vehicle is stored/parked.
  • Do not exceed the recommended limits shown below.

WARNING! The limits shown below are only recommendations in ideal situations. The actual safe limits will always depend on the particular ground & vehicle conditions.

Tinger Scout Passability

OVERCOMING WATER OBSTACLES

The TINGER TRACK is not a boat but is able to move over quiet water while maintaining buoyancy. To overcome water obstacles safely and effectively, follow the instructions below:

BEFORE ENTERING WATER:

  • Ensure the drain plug is securely in place and the bilge pump is operating. Always have the bilge pump running while on water.
  • Ensure all passengers can easily exit the vehicle in an emergency (if canopy is fitted, ensure canopy is open). Seatbelts should NOT be worn during on-water operations.
  • All passengers should always wear life-jackets/buoyancy aids.
  • Always provide a bucket and oar/s in the vehicle.
  • Do not try to overcome large spaces of water. Stay close to shore so you can get out of the water quickly in case of danger.
  • Do not attempt to overcome water obstacles with currents or high winds.
  • It is recommended to always use outboard motor (up to 5hp) on a specially fitted transom for water operations.

ENTERING WATER:

  • Move into the water only on a flat descent smoothly and at the minimum speed.

DRIVING ON WATER:

  • If NOT using an outboard, use the the vehicle tracks with gentle acceleration and steering as on land to move the vehicle.
  • Be careful of underwater objects that could trigger the turning of the vehicle.
  • Do not leave the vehicle in water for a long time. Water can filter through glands of shaft and damage bearings.

EXITING WATER:

  • To exit the water, select a flat place free of obstacles. Direct the vehicle so that both sides exit the water at the same time.
  • Once safely out of water all passengers should wear seatbelts.
